VEX Robotics Competition is a robotics competition for elementary through university students. In this competition, teams design, build, and program robots to compete at tournaments. At tournaments, teams participate in qualifying matches where two teams go against two teams. In the Elimination Rounds, alliances of two teams are selected by the top-seeded teams, and the alliance who wins the finals is the winner of the tournament.
Every year Vex robotics announces a new competition in which students from all grade levels can participate in. In this teams of students design, build, and code robots each year to compete in this game. This competition allows students to apply basic STEM concepts to a competitive atmosphere which student engagement and makes lessons feel more fun and immersive.
The VEX V5 system harnesses the excitement of building robots to immerse learners in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) concepts. Using these systems students can learn in groups or learn under one mentor with the curriculum given. With the experience of students working in groups, the students gain many skills like brainstorming, innovation, problem solving skills, and teamwork skills that can be useful for them all in the future.
VEX robotics systems provide opportunities to future engineers of all skill levels. By making the robots the system also naturally encourages teamwork, problem solving, leadership, communication skills, and decision making skills for students at any age level which are vital for a future in engineering. Overall kids inspired to become future engineers and programmers will find this experience to be very enjoyable and these systems will help them achieve their dreams in the future in the engineering pathway.
