Build Quality

Build quality is essential when building a robot, it reduces the probabiltiy of an error occuring during the autonomous or driver section of the vex robotics competition. The robot is more stable and is able to function with a higher quality of performance, with a less chance of anything breaking or malfuncioning.

  • Bearing flats, use to reduce slop in axle and screw joints, or to create perpendicular connections.
  • Keps Joints, use to keep screw stationary and allow metal to move around it with less slop.
  • Always make sure that pillow bearings are perfectly parallel to the holes around.
  • Screw joints in general are stronger than axle joints.
  • Nylock nuts should be used for any type of screw joint.
